  • Sony's X-Reality Engine sharpens images for a clear, vivid, life-like picture
  • Internet TV for wide variety of streaming media and other Internet content

Overview

Front : The Sony KDL-40EX720 has an attractive design, overall, with the elegance you expect from Sony. The bezel and stand are underestimated, by withdrawing into the background so as not to detract from what is on screen. In the bottom of the frame is the IR receiver, an environment of light and motion sensor and the infrared emitter that sends the synchronization signal for the 3D glasses.

Back : The back of the Sony KDL-40EX720, predictably, is mostly bare. In one corner is the package output ports. Fortunately, the TV screen can rotate on its base, making the ports more accessible.

Sides : The panel is incredibly thin. This is the real advantage of LED edge-lighting (because uniformity is not an advantage). The panel is so thin that there is no space for the control buttons or ports. The ports called in the picture below are actually on the back, but they face the side. The controls wrap around the part of the back.

Remote Control : The remote control supplied with the Sony KDL-40EX720 is a variation on the remote control last year, high-end Bravias, with some minor but noticeable. First, there are buttons prominently labeled "Netflix" and "Qriocity" at the top. We are not sure that Sony had to pay for the use of the name of Netflix, but it clearly shows how they perceive the importance of Netflix on the market. (We knew).

3D Glasses : The glasses do not have a set of Sony EX720. You will need to purchase separately at a price slightly nauseous about $ 150 per pair. Fortunately, have been redesigned since last year, and the distribution of weight and the weight seems more at ease.

z

Connections : The Sony KDL-40EX720 TV is definitely a cutting-edge home theater functions. As such, it has a lot of doors for newer devices, and some ports for legacy devices. There are 4 HDMIs and digital audio output, but only one composite and one component input. You better devices for the upgrade if you want to keep up. Additional ports include an AV input VGA and analog audio output.

There are also lots of multimedia ports: an Ethernet port, optional WiFi (with separate purchase of a USB dongle), and two USB ports. The USB ports can be used to play media files from storage devices such as a pen drive or Sony camera wrapped.

Performance : The Sony KDL-40EX720 did very well in our motion tests. Like last year, high-end Sony TVs, the EX720s have a feature called Motionflow which greatly improves the ease of movement and loss of detail. There is a great alarm, though. MotionFlow When enabled, any type of content-based film takes on a decidedly odd, video-like look. It works by inserting extra frames, resulting from a process of interpolation. If you're watching sports, MotionFlow goes well, perhaps even useful. However, watching movies makes it incredibly strange, and you're much better to disable the function. We must say, though, that seems to be less heavy than last year's iteration. Sony may change the algorithm.

I just got the TV. I was doing a search not only online but also on foot from place to place, the price for this value for the money, can not be beaten. The only problem is that TV is not built in wifi, but I'm buying the blue ray sony wifi bps780 build I'm looking at the "Copa America", Argentina and Colombia, and is just amazing to watch a futbol game on tv! I also discovered that a digital audio output, this gives me the opportunity to connect the HDTV receiver, my media player and blue ray to the TV via HDMI and get the audio through your home theater.

Have a sony home theater is an advantage because you can use the remote to control the basic functions, the volume of the TV inputs, channels .. I like the sound is good on TV, I read that some people are not satisfied with the quality, but I can not say that is really good for the size of my life. Just go for it! ..

Samsung UN40D6400 - Great TV great 3D quality

Saturday, July 16, 2011

Long before I had the TV for a day and so far I have tried everything on it and is just fabulous. We have DirecTV and the HD package, you have access to a 3D channel. The SSG-BEARER 3100gb 3D glasses and wow it was fantastic. I saw a previous comment that someone said that 3D is useless, could not be more wrong. Not sure what they looked, but I was out and left my family tries to do, because I've seen.

They all agree it was fantastic. Can I put a movie in 3D (Tron) and the same result was excellent in every way you want 3D. As for the remaining options on TV, smart applications are more than enough for u have a good time with the image quality is perfect in HD TV and the same is very compact. For 1000, it is useful to have defintly a TV anywhere in your home ...

Samsung UN40D6400 - Even better than my 2010 Samsung 50 "plasma!

I have 13 TVs 19" to 62". Four of them are Samsung (32" LCD, 32" LCD TV, 50" plasma, and this 40" LED), many others are Sony, Panasonic and Mitsubishi. Everyone was a big TV, but each is better than the last. Make sure you understand what television is the model 2011, not 2010. This is a UN40D6400UF, not a UN40C6400UF. It is so new that you can easily get help if you use the Samsung Finder. It should seek advice with the model number correctly, and only then, is a path to the support page.

I can only rate the TV the 2D image quality. I have no use for 3D television until you need glasses, even though both my PS3, TV, and a pair of Blu-ray 3D. As someone else noted, the box is small and is not a joke. I bought my kids a 40" TV Philips LED two weeks ago and the case was thin, but the box is 2" thinner. This TV weighs 22 pounds, while Philips is 30 pounds. The frame is incredibly thin and can watch TV as if it was all image.

The menu system is slightly better than my plasma, is well organized and intuitive. The installation was quick and no settings were all maxed out. The remote is fairly well defined, but not as nice as my plasma and the back-lighting is not as bright as it should be. The picture and sound are superb! Off-viewing angle (horizontal and vertical) is amazing. All my Samsung TV has touch controls on the front of the television - they look great but are difficult to use in most lighting situations. This TV has real buttons on the back of the TV, but you need to store the positions to be heard. (UPDATE) When you touch the buttons on the back of the TV, there are icons that appear on the front of the screen that displays all the buttons and the button is touched, noting that the button. Very cool!

I recommend this TV to all my friends and family! I'm so glad I spent the extra $100 to get the 6400 instead of 6000. OK, I caved in and bought a pair of 3D glasses Samsung and Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D. The glass coupled with the TV as if by magic. The 3D image is quite striking, with one of the problems described by another reviewer. I still do not like glasses, and I felt a little eye strain and worry for the film. You can actually still watch the movie without the glasses - not very good, but 100 times better than the old 3D movies red and blue. Glasses and a big head like mine, but always respond to my children (nice design).

I was also tired of the look of the soap 2D standard video, so I put the motion on the basis of comments Auto Plus Forum (Blur to 10, Judder to 3). The image is back to normal, and the rapid movement is not jerky. I recommend this change, or air crazy funny videos natural. It may seem silly, but this adjustment is day and night!

Unless I missed something, there should be a LAN port on this model. Just look at the specifications for the inputs, not the LAN port. But this 2011 model has a LAN port and it works perfectly. I connected an old D-Link DWL-G820 as a wireless access point (game adapter) and TV is now on the Internet. Still love this TV!

Samsung UN40D6400 - BEST TV FOR THE MONEY

Boy I was like a kid at Christmas when the UPS guy showed up with this child. When he reached the door, I was shocked at how thin the box was just the box! After extraction and creation, I was immediately sure that I made the right choice. You'll hear again and again how nice this TV is, and I'm sorry, but I need to get my point :-) The card-thin or ultra bezzle is great. The picture quality is amazing, colors pop and even if the automatic movement 120Hz, more is not for everyone, is always spectacular. In this regard, I must say that after reading so many comments from people who do not like the Auto Motion Plus (or soap opera of influence), I think it's important to note that, by raising all the parameters seem strange ... does not make sense for this.

I moved to my best, but my vibration only 4 or 5 .... I find that to be adjusted based on the schedule. My One and Only problem is that it comes with 3D glasses ..... I know it's not a huge problem, but it is believed that the amount of pay TV would be able to take in about $ 40 glasses is not it? One more thing ... person with only one point .... BUY THE DISTANCE QWERTY! is a real pain, trying to use the SMART Hub T9. I'm sure I lost a lot, but there is much to talk about .... is a big TV for the money.

Samsung UN40C7000 40-Inch 3D LED HDTV - Just what I expected

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Samsung UN40C7000 40-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV (Black)I bought this TV about 1 month ago. This model requires a "dongle" for Wi-Fi operation. Fortunately, the "dongle" was a free add-on. I understand that the new Samsung models that will go to a wi-fi, it seems better to hang a "dongle", and it makes more sense.

I'm not crazy when the plug cables into the TV, because instead of my being able to respond invisible, must be folded upon themselves to provide as invisible as possible. Considering the six typical length of an HDMI cable, the length required to complete this journey is not always practical, without having to buy longer cables. I can understand the difficulty of planning in this field, because if the unit is connected to a wall it would be difficult to reach the connectors that would deny most central place in this way.

When you turn on (with remote control just because there is no switch on the TV), it takes about 10 seconds before any clear indication that it was the turn ... except, on closer inspection, the red light stays on when the TV is off when you turn on and off 10 seconds after a music sequence is played, followed by the power of television.

I would also like the stand allowed the TV to be adjusted for tilt, but only a limited amount of side to side adjustment. Built in tilt seems to hold the TV back up about 5 degrees warmer than the bottom. Because in my TV setup is in place, I would be able to tip of about 5 degrees in the opposite direction (pointing slightly down).

The remote looks cool, feels solid and has raised a number of indicators, but the points raised are not sufficient to distinguish one button from another by touch alone. Perhaps this will change with time. The inherent ability of Yahoo Widgets is interesting and I like that is changing and the TV will be able to take advantage of this. I was very surprised to learn that I can watch TV and see that twit Leo LePorte CES coverage at no additional cost! Streaming video often stops to allow a wireless connection to catch up. Ideally, this TV must be connected to the Internet's son, despite my having mentioned the "dongle". However, the image is large, the sound is very good and I like this TV!

Samsung C8000 Series 's last firmware version was improves 3D performance

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

If you've read many reviews for UN46C8000, you know that a common criticism was ghosts when displaying shadows and 3D source material. With the release of the June 28th firmware, this problem is very small and the 3D is spectacular. The new firmware also adds support for a new "3D Optimize" menu option of this 3D TV. Select this option appears to reduce ghosting and enhances the 3D effect.

Samsung seems to have done something to reduce the amount of eye strain caused by wearing 3D glasses. Now I can wear for hours and not notice any particular problem. Unfortunately, there are very few 3D hardware available yet, but the 3D DirecTV broadcasts are excellent, probably as good as my 3D Blu-ray.

For others, no 3D, this TV is simply superb. If you want to make the most of it, I recommend you read the review in the Home Theater journal site and then set the TV using the recommended settings. Unless you're already an expert in the creation of a TV like this, it is likely to get much better results from the parameters suggested that began with the factory default settings.

In addition, make sure you update the firmware before adjusting the settings, because the firmware clears the custom configuration. Then write down the settings and save them for next time you need to do a firmware update.

Another element that I wanted to say is that several websites, including televisioninfo said that television "has a dynamic contrast ratio of very heavy" that can not be stopped. Nothing could be further from the truth. Dynamic Contrast can be adjusted or turned off completely under the Advanced menu. When it's off, I have not noticed any negative effect on the image of some of these comments.

Sony BRAVIA HX800 series

Monday, June 27, 2011

I had a Sony 32-inch CRT that has begun to have problems, so I decided to switch to a LCD TV 37" to 42" screen size. After reading several reviews on the LCD and LED LCD TV, I decided to choose a card with LED local dimming dynamic. TV with local dimming LEDs are the best complete set available on the market, but more expensive to meet my budget. Sony HX800 this series had great reviews all over the world, including Amazon and compared to other models on the market with similar features (Dynamic Edge LED, 3D panel, 240Hz refresh) Sony gives more value for money and a good reputation for quality product.

I bought this from Amazon and I reached the second day, Amazon has great customer service. 5 stars for this. Open the box, true deep black panel and bezel, I was impressed by his appearance. And thin, but not as thin as the Samsung models. The setup took me about 1.5 hours, stand construction, through the initial setup. You may need a second person to hold the TV to select the location. Like all the other auditors mentioned in their reviews, I was so happy to have made the right choice when lit. The image is sharp and perfect, blacks are blacks, and I think the local dimming LED real dynamic, and the panel black with white does not work. The menu and remote is easy to use. I connected an Ethernet cable to connect to the Internet, YouTube, Netflix, etc. works perfectly, as indicated. You may have to make a small configuration to allow Netflix, the booklet provided all the information to do so.

I only used up to now in 2D and is very satisfied with the quality of the image. I do not know if I go to 3D, which causes nausea and dizziness. It was not very concerned about the review did not need 3D transmitter is to build or buy 3D glasses that cost extra. I read that the 3D panel is superior to 2D panels only to provide high quality images in 2D. The audio is average, is the same for almost all models with flat screen, you have to buy at the bar or a 5.1 audio to make the sound better.

I wonder why this model has been discontinued by Sony KDL40HX800, 46 and 55 inch models are still there. I firmly believe that, as in 2010 HX 40" top model and they are not able to promote their new EX 2011 series 40" models that do not have the option Dynamic LED. I highly recommend this model, the catch before it is exhausted.

Sony BRAVIA KDL40HX800 Cnet Review

What could be the next?
I am very surprised by the quality of this TV, I started to think that Sony could not visibly improve the product. I had to buy a 40" as well as problems in the mobile industry, we built a new gallery. The result of compressing an image and a 1080p 240Hz refresh rate on a 40-inch display provides only an attention to detail, contrast and depth of nearly three dimensions (of a signal in two dimensions), which is beyond what I had imagined. Because our new gallery and wiring for internet and cable are not completed, I have not tried Internet TV or 3D real. I saw the 3D capabilities of this set in the house of my son who has the television itself, which is only 46". The 3D image is amazing, and this shows the different levels of depth that I expected, levels of depth seem to have a distinguishing number, instead of a gradual transition from close range.

I think the 3D effects are strongly dependent on the quality of the original source of the material in 3D, and if the photograph was to be as realistic as possible, or was struck by the sensationalism of 3D. I'm not convinced that the photographers of cinema, directors or producers have begun to master the new features that 3D has made available. In addition, there are a lot of 3D hardware available yet. However, I am completely satisfied with the sense of the depth of more than one combination of 1080p and 240Hz refresh rate. Also, do not expect the best sound quality of this set. The sound is just OK and should be connected to a good sound system 5.1 or better understand the sounds that support this.

However, the sound can be set to clear the box if you do not need the explosive low-frequency shaking the house, the sound is almost necessary to get the full impact of the soundtrack and adventure movies. In short, this TV is so good that the weaknesses are minor compared to the whole. Although this unit can be priced on the high side of the other on the market, the extra cost is more than worth it, in my opinion. I am reasonably sure that anyone who buys this set will agree. If you think otherwise, I would be curious to know why.

excellent 3D TV though pricey
I have had this  LED TV for three months ... purchased on the basis reviews of others .. through social media. I am very satisfied. The TV works perfectly with the Internet (you must purchase the USB Wi-Fi for about $70) and cable. I added a sound system, Sony CT150 with it and it does enhance experience and makes life easier as all that is, the Blue-Ray player and TV set-top box connected to it.

I can say that I'm not a big fan of television in 3-D, but this TV is inherent to the sophisticated chips that eliminates distortion and the delay of sound and movement so it's worth the extra cost for the best experience in 2D .. These glasses are a big pain and expensive.

The structure is very intuitive and easy. The swivel mount is well done. All screws are inserted in the holes properly and there are enough of them. Installation requires strength of mind, why not tell you that the television will automatically install the software to run properly updated Netflix, Pandora, etc., but only if you turn off the TV just a few and the Internet to keep him on standby. So If you are pretty frustrated that things do not work, it turns off (goes into standby mode) and back in ten minutes ... everything is fixed.
