Frame Sequential Technology: Full HD Signals for Each Eye

The method used to send left-eye, right-eye is crucial for 3D image quality and 3D Full  3D HD technology uses what is called sequential images. GT25 Series plasma display allows images to each eye alternately playing at 60 frames per second (fps) for a total of fps in both eyes. Viewers watch the images through 3D glasses with great precision (not included), which opens and closes the shutters on the left and right in sync with the images of the parties. Therefore, a different image 1920 x 1080 Full HD is sent to each eye. This solves the problems of image quality and blurring the previous systems that were common to 3D, and create sharp images.

The Frame Sequential Technology requires images to be displayed at 1/120 of a second--twice as fast as ordinary full-HD images. If the luminescence time for each frame were simply shortened, the screen brightness would be lowered. To solve this problem, panasonic shortened the luminescence time and raised the luminescence intensity, to keep things bright and detailed.

3D Eyewear: High-Precision Shutter Control Sends Clear Images to Each Eye

Very precise control to completely close the shutters for both eyes at the same time the images change from left to right in the eye. This residual image masks to enable 3D part of a clear and comfortable vision. Glasses sold separately.

My Samsung UN55C8000

Saturday, May 28, 2011

Okay, I bought this TV in July and returned after a few days due to some problems. I bought it last week and I'm so excited that I did. This TV is even better than last year. In addition, firmware updates are already installed on the TV and I had to do.

I have watched the following blu-ray movies on it:
-- Green Zone (This movie itself is made in mostly dark scenes, but I enjoyed it)
-- Prince of Persia (stunning quality - both Dynamic and Movie mode)
-- Cars (Absolutely freaking stunning)

I also tried a few Netflix movies online, but my internet speed is slow. I could not play HD movies through the bandwidth of the Internet, but the quality of regular film was fantastic. As a first step on Netflix, the movie seemed so real I just watch "manufacture" of the film. Later I swithced "naturally" in the menu and looked like a movie. :) I have yet to explore all your TV functions can be optimized, but a better profile to factory default. As the youngest of my 2 years old, I'm in love with this TV more and more each passing day. :)

I changed the format for playback on TV in "Dynamic", before playing Avatar. I swear I saw the colors of the Cinemark theater were not half as good as they look on TV. Great! Awesome! I also tried to watch the same film in 3D. The depth of the upconverted 3D mode was only partially correct with respect to the true 3D movies you see with 3D glasses.

Another star was lost due to the low double-edged (images crosstalk) of certain scenes in the movie (Monsters vs. Aliens) when viewed in 3D mode. People say that happens from time to time, someone said that "it is rare." Let me tell you what happens almost every time on the picture where the background is dark and the subject is clear and brilliant in it Example: .. The planet in the sky before crashing or timing behind the guy who is that with a ping-pong table or view in the church 90% of the film is brighter so we do not see double-board 90% of the time.

God forbid if we get The Lord of the Rings in 3D format of a day in the future we will see double-edged (or crosstalk) 60% of the time the film has a beautiful dark scenes in it. I talked to Samsung and guy advised me to install the latest update on TV, what I did, but does not solve the problem. And when I spent most of the dollars ($3,000) for this technology, I do not want to compromise with the quality of it. Nemo I also played in 2D mode and under-the-Sea dark scenes, it was clear edges around the objects in it (like his father, Dory and Nemo).

One last thing: I tried to play Blu-ray movies from my laptop and my laptop connected to your TV via the Denon. The film appeared on television, in general, believes that the handset is extremely sharp and clear. And I know that this is not the Denon. However, this does not bother me as much as crosstalk problems when viewing 3D content.

TV in 3D mode loses color when you take two steps to the right or left. Then she asks to sit in the Love Seat. If you sit on a chair outside of yourself or another part of the couch, you will not see half of the colors. But this is expected. "Viewing Angle" is generally limited to the screen than in plasma. However, the viewing angle is greater than 2D in 3D. But then you dance around to watch movies in 3D.

Samsung UN55C8000 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV

Worth waiting to find HDTV.

Examiners greetings .. I accidentally found this particular model (UN55C8000) on Amazon, and is a 2010 model. The 2011 models (check your local store for the big "D" series), and are $3000 +, which was not interested because of the price, even if they are close to the bezel-less, so there is a high "cool" factor. I almost won the TV shop and I am very happy with the TV is independent.

My room dimensions are so small that the point of observation is only 8 feet from the screen (which is in my eye at the center of the screen. This is an incredibly bright screen and fast that ignores many others I have seen. I've been waiting 3D for a long 55-inch LED that I can replace my long outdated in 32-CRT (I know ... it's like comparing a radio to a CD, but that's what I had before), then c "is what I compare this to.

The monitor is easy to set up a series of screen televisions in the media. More interesting to me was the weight without the stand. Most people I know will be mounted on a wall or a monitor stand is designed to fix a flat screen and do not use the media very cool. I found that the monitor is very "light" without the base. It is about 30 pounds, which means it will not weigh your wall or put a load more about this monitor stand.

When I turned on the plateau for the first time I was very pleased with the reversal of tone and reveals how all the lights, instead of shooting. Although this is an "LED", which means that the LED backlight is a source. It is a well-designed features. I have a Denon AVR3806 which is a little 'dated, but I'm happy with the HDMI output on it to my monitor with a source of HD cable TV box. When the HD or SD, the picture is very clear . Every so often, I have a bit 'of pixelation or delay, but I think the reason is the source of the material is electronic.

When you watch sports or watching a documentary in HD is the star image ... In fact, the update (at 240Hz), so fast, that turns into an HD image that is a bit cooler than my CRT. I changed my colors and my color, but the real reason is the rate Update of your monitor. I have not tested the game with Blue-Ray or 3D from this paper (I just bought the Samsung BD-D6700, so I expect really good things with him).

Overall, I was struck by the level of black, the color is very lively, but the refresh rate so fast that it overwhelms most sources give the viewer a "digital video and listen to the recorded image screen. This is a set of high quality. If they are not placed on the aesthetics of the new model "D", save your money and worry about the big picture of this.

Difference between Active and Passive 3D Glasses

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

The need to wear 3D glasses to play 3D games and watch movies in 3D content such as3D TV and 3D Blu Ray is one of the most debated topics in the television producer in 3D, and between buyers of 3D TV.

Until the arrival of good quality, low-cost 3D TV without glasses that requirement to wear 3D glasses is likely to continue to shape the widespread acceptance of 3D television as a medium of entertainment at home.

Fortunately, major manufacturers are aware of the limitations and problems that require 3D glasses. This is a problem not only in terms of costs (although the last passive glasses are much cheaper than the models widely used Active Shutter), but many couples often often work with TV producers, which were designed for, it means that t can ' bear to watch television differently. In addition, most of the 3D TV is provided with one or two couples. You will need to buy several pairs for family or friends. The purchase of a 3D starter kit - which gives additional pairs available - is a way to overcome this problem.

Since Avatar, Clash of the Titans, and Alice in Wonderland illustrated our appetite for companies tariff 3D electronics have always wanted to try out our homes. But 3D is not a new invention. In fact, there are nearly a century. The first 3-D glasses and the film appeared in 1922, and the technology has continued in the 80 and the viewing public has lost interest.

In recent years the development of 3D technology of television has changed. For those who want to know how 3D TV, 3D glasses understanding of the game is essential, especially for those who want to buy a 3D TV at the moment. With the increasing availability of 3D content for television broadcasters and television in 3D they wear, the stage seems set for an acceleration of growth in the adoption of 3D TV in our homes. The debate on whether the 3D glasses will have a negative impact on growth prospects continue to rage for some time.

In this article we will see why we need to wear 3D glasses, what kind of 3D glasses are several types of 3D glasses - active and passive liquid crystal glasses - and the technology behind them.

So why do we need to wear special glasses to watch 3D content? The answer lies in how our brain interprets the images received from our eyes. For this, we must understand the parallax and how it works.

The best stereo images to provide different images for each of our eyes, and the best way to get that when viewing a flat image is to wear glasses with lenses that provide slightly different versions of the image plane in each eye.

Humans naturally see in three dimensions because of parallax, which is the line of sight overlap that occurs when you use two eyes to see an object. Since our eyes are several inches apart, each eye sees an object with a slightly different angle. This slight difference is what causes the "perception of depth and experience to see in three dimensions. This is called stereoscopic images.

When the movie came out, there was no evidence of parallax and finding more effective ways to manage the "chances of admission. Initially, the images were produced using 3D anaglyph images, created by superimposing the image on a red-blue with a view slightly different. cardboard 3D glasses are needed with the red and blue glasses to see the action jump off the screen.

Our eyes see combinations of the three primary colors: red, blue and yellow. anaglyph 3D glasses, just use a lens with a different color for each eye. anaglyph glasses combined with a main objective of color (like red) mixed with a colored glass in blue (a mixture of green and blue). This has created 3D images, blocking parts of the spectrum of color in one eye, and different parts of the color spectrum in the eyes of others. The difference between the two was enough for each eye sees a slightly different image of the cinema while watching the screen, causing the brain to treat the scene like in three dimensions.

The process has allowed for 3D visualization, but it caused an incredible color distortion. A change was made for polarized anaglyph - pictures with different light levels, rather than the colors - but it was too late. The audience has changed. Recently, however, the desire for 3D content was awakened by forcing new developments in polarized lenses. Avatar has shown that 3D should not be a gadget. It can be an art form. The glass used in the room are known as passive glasses, cheap and very effective in a theatrical setting.

Passive 3-D glasses at home - to tell the difference between passive and active LCD glasses
 Active Shutter Glasses
The main difference between the two types of glasses, is that while creating passive 3D glasses by sending information to each eye of our eyes so, active glasses do so by sending information to both eyes simultaneously.

Passive glasses are similar to those you get when you watch a 3D movie at the cinema. They are polarized lenses that separate the images you see, and leave just the right image for the left eye and right eye to be viewed correctly. A major advantage is the cost of passive glasses, with a couple potentially a cost of about a pound or two dollars. In addition to this there is no electricity, so no batteries to replace.

The problem with polarized anaglyph glasses is that they require darkness to work at their maximum. It 'difficult to create and maintain the darkness of a theater in a living room, so that companies had to find a way to produce 3D images without interfering with the light levels of an image.

The latest developments in passive glasses has been the arrival of the RPF or Patterned Retarder film technology. This is now supported by the likes of LG, Toshiba and Philips, and works to optimize the separation of images for our eyes to the right and left, then merge through passive 3D glasses to provide the 3D image.

This creates 3D images of superior quality with reduced crosstalk or ghost, a problem that can cause blurred images. The new LG TVs use a thin film that covers the 3D display that helps to combat the problem of the light level previously seen with passive glasses, and results in brighter images for 3D visualization of the 3D experience of good quality.

Vizio was the first manufacturer to introduce this technology 3D passive at the end of 2010 with the release of their XVT3D650SV 65-inch model - an expensive purchase, now at about $ 3700. Initial tests showed a difference in image quality compared to an active set of glasses Panasonic popular, best-photo released by Panasonic.

3D LCD Active Shutter Glasses

Originally developed for the game screens and displays, 3D glasses are now under development used to watch TV in high-definition 3D. This format shooting active glasses clear, high quality, high-resolution images. Glasses work on the same principle, such as cups and glasses polarized red and blue or passive, leaving the image of each eye.

Instead of playing with colors and light levels, however, safety glasses or close any lens that darken over time with a refresh rate of a television set at a speed of about 120 times per second, a technique known as the alternative image the sequence. This allows an image to enter the left eye, while the dark right lens, and vice versa. He arrives at high speed, controlled by a transmitter built into the TV, there is a lack of electricity, but we can see three dimensions. This process makes them much more expensive than passive 3D glasses, because they are controlled electronically and they also need batteries to function.

Samsung has a lot of glasses that comes with the 3D TV and 3D DVD players in 2010. All the batteries needed to power the goals flap, but the SSG-2200AR is the only rechargeable model. The model of SSF-2100AB, which uses disposable batteries, will be available shortly. Both models will be available in certain pairs of glasses, which runs between $ 150 and $200 each. For consumers who need more than one pair of 3D glasses, 3D Samsung will also offer a starter kit, which includes two pairs of glasses, which SSG-P2100.

For consumers who can not give $150 for a single pair of glasses, ViewSonic offers a cheaper alternative: PGD-150 lenses for only $ 89. These 3D glasses can be used with other 3D-capable and have an effective range of vision at 50 feet. IO Display is the leap into 3D. The company publishes its Virtual FX 2D to 3D converter, with two sets of glasses.

There have been some health warnings issued to 3D TV, particularly around health concerns with glasses, though. Extended viewing through the lens can cause disorientation and headaches. Wearing glasses for long periods of time - like days at a time - could also cause potential damage to the eye.

Active glasses may seem a little piece of technology complicated, but they work very easily. Some companies may say the glasses must be synchronized on TV, and offer to do it for you for a nominal fee. But you can synchronize your glasses to TV at home, for free. Just wear them and look at the screen.

Incompatibility problems - and a possible solution ....

Incompatibility between the 3D glasses for different groups of producers has always been an obstacle for 3D television. Thus, the recent Panasonic to create a single standard for the models of active shooting tends to be a promising step in the right direction. Xpand3D have worked to create a standard known as M-3DI, which aims to ensure compatibility of the lenses used with all different types of 3D display - TVs, PCs, laptops and projectors.

The standard has the support of a number of major manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Panasonic, of course, and a handful of others. E 'provided that the new technology will be seen first in Australia in the second half of 2011, Panasonic will release a new plasma high-end 3D TV series and works by using two-way technology that, once a set of 3D glasses activities, that recognize the brand and model of your TV watching.

Samsung UN55C8000 great results convert any video game in 3D!

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Breathtaking! Many new things here that is hard to know where to start. The picture quality is outstanding, but I do not think anyone would expect nothing less from a TV of this size, so I'm going to talk about everything 8,000,000: 1 contrast ratio! . Make sure to update v1.4 HDMI cables to get the 3D to work better, although I heard that works well with other versions of HDMI.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/514OJPvguTL.jpg
At first I thought the film from 2D to 3D feature was a little over-rated by some reviews I've read the others, but after playing with him for a while, I developed a new appreciation for I recommend it to watch Blu-Ray - planet Earth, the chapter on mountain ashtonishing The 3D was simply can not wrap my head around how the 3D TV Others can do this conversion on the fly, but I'm very excited by this technology. Before I saw "300" with 3D, and everything has been suspended until I have a headache. It also works with video games like PS3 and Xbox360 (keep in mind the 3D false and not as good as real, but some will appreciate a new way of playing and watching television). I thought that Halo on the Xbox 360 looked pretty impressive, until I saw how Gears of War 2 looks in 3D. It was hard to believe that 3D was false, and I do not think I ever played Gears of War without the 3D from now on. Be sure to configure 3D "10" for maximum 3-D effects. The amount of 3D pop-up can be adjusted on a scale of 1 to 10. Almost all 3D games is superb.

I do not know if this TV compatible with NVIDIA 3D technolgy, but if so, you may be able to play PC games in real 3D by connecting the computer! I'll update this when I know more. I have not tested the 3D real because I have not yet received the 3D player and the PS3 has not yet updated the firmware to play in real 3D. But I do this update after the test.

The downsides to this TV are as follows (I admit these are nitpicky complaints):
- Several people have complained that this set does not display 24p properly. I have tried to the best of my ability to verify this, however, with the effects turned off (or set on "clear"), the TV looks to me that it is displaying 24p just fine. Since I cannot find fault, I'm assuming most viewers are not going to notice anything so I cannot dock any stars in rating.
- the special features are hard to locate - good luck finding how to adjust settings on the 3D pop up level!

- the 240hz smoothing feature, when active, ends up making the picture look so smooth that action movies resemble home video movies (also described as Spanish Soap Opra effect). On the one hand it's great to have no flicker or choppiness, but it makes Hollywood movies look very low budget for some reason, despite all the new details that can be seen. The only kind of movies that look good with the full 240fps smoothing are computer animated movies like "UP", and documentaries like "Planet Earth". The smoothness really works well for movies like this, the mountain scenes felt like actually being there, and made me dizzy! I didn't have that effect when I had originally watched it in 24p a couple years back. In fact I remember thinking back then how nice the mountain scenes would have looked if not for all the "judder/choppiness" of 24p. For all other movies I keep the setting on "Clear" which brings back the cinematic 24p picture judder. As annoying as the choppiness is, it sure brings back the Hollywood Magic.
- The illuminated "SAMSUNG" logo that is directly under the TV picture is annoying since I like to watch movies at night, however, I later found out this can be turned off in the settings.
- The TV isn't as sturdy feeling as my previous flat screen. Because its so thin, it tends to wobble in its base if tapped, and it just gives me that uncomfortable "unsturdy" feeling. This is not a big deal though, I don't think it will fall and you can always choose to mount it to the wall.
- The flat remote control is cool to look at, but difficult to operate since you can't "feel" your way around the keys. However, you shouldn't have to use the remote much since most of us use the cable box remote anyways.

I finally tested against the film Monsters vs. Aliens 3D. 3D has been done before at speeds of more scenes of the film (even better than 3D cinema, but not better than IMAX 3D). The fact that this was the first 3D Blu-ray is not clear why there are occational this balance, in some scenes (double images). Although many critics have chosen to wait to complain, I see another point of view. There was just too perfect effect of 3D scenes in all types of environments for me to believe that the balance is inevitable. I think the occasional ghosting should be slipped under the door with the release of new lines Sumsung 3D TV. I do not think there will be problems with the removal of ghost to come, when more time to master 3D content. Color me impressed and happy to have made this purchase!

Buy this TV if you're really excited about 3D that I am, I do not think you'll be disappointed. Do not upgrade just for the picture quality. In recent years, the 240Hz models look just as good, and some critics have said for some years even better.

The good: black levels more than other sets of edge-lit, color accuracy linear grayscale, image controls and a series of changes, slim and stylish panel cm deep, large and streaming content through widgets and applications well-integrated platform, 3D compatible; 2D to 3D conversion system works better than expected.
The bad: Extremely expensive; provision of uniformity and off-angle viewing, light black levels of the local fixed table full occultation, while the black areas tinged blue 3D pictures phantom exposed along the edges (talk) is no 3D glasses , terrible remote.

The bottom line: The 3D is still a work in progress and the quality of 2D images is short on one of the best available, but high-end Samsung UNC8000 series offers more features, solid performance and a unique style. Among the high-definition TVs we reviewed, the series UNC8000 is the first 3D TV, the first edge-lit LCD with LED local dimming-based, and the first example of applications for the platform of the Samsung TV. and best "image quality specifications for the LCD business in 2010, packs more features than ever, and still manages to measure less than an inch thick. As you can imagine, not cheap.

LED Televisions Types

Monday, May 23, 2011

There are two main types of LED HDTV, and can be divided into two different versions depending on backlight use. The first is called edge-lit LED and the other is known as a back-lit LED. n this article we will examine HDTV with LED back-lit and try to understand how it works.

What is a Back-lit Led HDTV?

All televisions of this type are illuminated by LEDs, which were presented to provide some advantages over other types of lighting. back-lit LED are mounted directly behind the screen, which is similar to the way LCD TV is the lighting was introduced.

These LEDs are in blocks, and are grouped so that they can be monitored simultaneously. Therefore, each block has the ability to be turned off independently and it took other blocks. The advantage of this is that in an image with dark areas and some areas of blocks of light and dark can have their power to allow a signal all black. This additional control is not possible on a TV screen.

Local-dimming Technology

The name of this technique is local dimming, and is the term that should be to see if he wants to buy a TV with an LED that is created in this way. The main advantage is an HDTV with LED technology, this type of variation may have a better relationship than other types of high-definition television. LCDs have always been an offer of all times "with an exchange ratio in poor countries than that of a plasma screen, backlight, so this method is proposed to address this problem.

Problems With Local-dimming

How come with all this technology, there is one drawback to this idea. Problems arise when a block of light is covered with a light and a dark part of the picture. This will be the same problems associated with LCD TVs, in which the block can not be turned off completely, making it impossible to get the black part is completely in the dark. E 'can identify the problem, and it would be an LED light for each pixel on the screen - but the "deals with what would be too high a price to build a television in this way and then it would be too expensive for most people to buy. Samsung UN55C8000 Amazing 3D LED HDTV!

Saturday, May 21, 2011

First, let me be clear about the type of test is intended to be. I am not a professional appraiser TV. I'm not a videophile. I am a regular Joe and I go through this for the regular Joe, who plans to spend more than usual on a TV with good quality. Over the next few months, I'm sure you can find a more professional advice from the usual places ... But for now, is my impression.

LIGHT CORNER: After reading many reviews over the years D8000 C7000 last year and this year, I was worried about the light that emits from a corner. I saw the events of the year D8000, C7000, and last year and are very easy to see what people are talking about. I took a big gamble to buy this TV before I read that if people had problems with the C8000. Let me say ... After watching this TV for about 5 hours a day for 3 days ... I have not seen the light from the edges as seen in other series. And believe me, I tried. I tried to come to watch the HD feed of Time Warner Cable, Blu-ray on PS3, Blu-Ray Samsung Blu-ray 3D, Night Watch, during the day ... Nothing. I have not seen!

WATCH: This TV simply looks amazing. It has a very dark black screen. And nice as it does outside. I was nervous about the brushed metal, but it is very good and congratulations on your new chrome bar on all fours.

IMAGE: The image clarity is incredible. It 's like I found in HD for the first time. This set replaces a series Samsung DLP, and of course is a big improvement. That said, I have a new plasma in the bedroom and this series is much better than that. As with all new series of LEDs at 240 Hz, there is some "home video Spanish Soap Opera/compare to it. Some people just like that, some people do not. I really like. For those of you who have not, you can always disable this feature down or off. For me, making the image look very clear and distinguishes it from other series.

3D: In conjunction with this TV that I bought the Samsung Blu-ray player in 3D so you can get the 3-D starter kit free of charge. 3D glasses and take the connection was easy. Monsters vs. Aliens The intro was very cool. The opening scene in space seemed incredible. The ball in one hand paddle was fun and a bit 'scared me a bit'. I have not spent too much time with 3D, but I noticed that there were scenes of the film which was a double image with glasses. That Not good, but it is worthy of note. You can immediately see the scene of the early church film. It was a little boring. I hope this is the kind of thing that is fixed with an update or more content is published, they learn to solve the problem.

OnlineTV: This is a very new to me. I never understood the need for applications that I want on my TV ... But its kina cool. I tried some applications, but my favorite is by far the application of the worms. I am a big fan of Pandora and I love this application on my TV online or iPhone. The only thing I hate is that Samsung does not have WiFi built in. I think that the prices set in the $3,000+ mark must be sufficient to show that, with all Drag and I do not require another $80 for the USB adapter. I'm wired, but that's another thread that I do not like.

USB: I wanted to say that this series allows you to connect an external USB hard drive and play music, photos and movies directly from your hard drive. I have a 320 GB Western Digital Passport full of movies and music, and I was able to explore the file structure of the disc using the remote control quite easily. It plays all file formats I threw at it.

Overall I am very satisfied UN55C8000. Even with the few drawbacks, this series the average Joe is a 5 star! As I spend more time with the game, I'm sure to update this review if I find something worthy of note. Feel free to ask me questions and I will do my best to answer them. I know how to destroy a nerve bought an expensive product like this is ... So, I'd be happy to help as much as possible.

Pros:
No corner light!!!
Very dark screen.
Very clear picture
Pandora Samsung App
3D was surprisingly fun
USB external HDD capable
and... NO CORNER LIGHT!

Cons:
Slight double images on 3D.
Wifi requires an $80 USB adaptor.

Understanding - Types of HDTV

Sunday, May 15, 2011

When search HDTV sets, there are three major details to think: the technology that powers for HD television, the screen type (general, 4:3 or widescreen, 16:9), and whether the set includes a HDTV tuner or requires a different unit. First, let' s take a view at the technologies currently available, and your options for each.

The greatly normal type of HDTVs today are still direct view (normal is cathode ray tube (CRT)-just like most 'general' TVs ), and standard rear-projection (trad what we have called 'big screen' ). Both have advantages and disadvantages, but in all likel their days are numbered as we moved towards newer technologies that pack more features, likely price savings, and brighter, clearer image quality. Direct view TVs suffer in their costs to manufacture and limitations on size (the largest direct view HDTVs are 36 inches). Standard Rear projection suffers from convergence issues, screen burn in, and ease of viewing in a bright lit place or from an angle.

Newer technologies is Plasma TVs, LCD (liquid crystal displays - like most laptop computer screens), and LCoS ( Liquid Crystal on Silicon ) and DLP (Digital Light Processor) rear - projection units each has it' s advantages and disadvantages, but in all cases, these newer technologies regularly produce image quality at least equal to the older technologies, and in variant cases absolutely better. In the case of Plasma TVs and LCD TVs, these technologies also provide the use of a compact form, and in many cases are only a few inches thick, eclipse weights that are a unit of the older technologies, and the new rear - projection technologies. Be sure to take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of Plasma TVs compared to other HDTV types.

The next major kindness when buying a HDTV is whether you want a widescreen TV or a regular size. Widescreen HDTVs offer a 16:9 ratio screen, through standard HDTVs are 4:3 (ultimately square). Widescreen is same to the formats used in movie theaters, DVDs and is also the standard HDTV signal format. This is the recommended format, and the direction TVs are heading (many manufacturers are already planning to stop the old normal, 4:3 format TVs, and only produce widescreen TVs ). Note that LCD and Plasma TVs are partial exclusively in widescreen formats.

End concept is whether the set includes an all HDTV tuner (also called a receiver), or if it requires a standalone unit to perform this function. Most HDTVs are sold lost a built in tuner, and there are variant advantages to this. First, it helps manufacturers keep prices down, as they obviously do not need to build in the components of the HDTV tuner, and it allows them to keep their HDTV sets more concise. Second, since tuner technology will okay change over the years (improvements in digital signal processing occur , this protects your HDTV set investment since you can always upgrade the tuner separately as needed. A third, very important reason, is that most cable and satellite providers that offer HDTV programming provide this tuner as part of their subscription package - in many cases eliminating this cost for you.

Know about LED HDTV

Friday, May 6, 2011

There are two major types of the LED HDTV, and they can be split into two variant versions by the type of back lighting they use. One is called an edge-lit LED and the other is known as a back-lit LED television. In this story we will look at the back-lit LED HDTV and try to know how it works.

What is a Back-Lit LED HDTV?
All TVs of this type are lit by Led lights, which have been shown to give some advantages over other types of lighting. Back - lit LED televisions have the LED lights settled instantly behind the screen, which is same the the way an LCD TV has it's lighting arranged.

These LED lights are settled into blocks, and are grouped calm so that they can be controlled at the same time. So, each block has the capability to be switched

off and on separately to the more blocks colse to it. The asset of this is that in an image with some dark areas and some light areas, the dark parts can have their blocks switched of fully to enable an totally black signal. This other control isn't potential on an LCD television.

Local-Dimming Technology
The name of this method is local dimming, and this is the term you should be seeing for if you want to buy an LED TV that is built in this way. The most benefit is an LED HDTV with this type of technology may have a best variance ratio than other types of high-def  television. LCDs have all the time traditionally had a qoute with a poor variation ratio compared to that of a plasma TV, and so this technique of backlighting is aimed at  addressing this problem.

The Problems With Local-Dimming
As ever with all of this technology, there is a downside to this idea. The problems occur when one block of lights is covered by a light and a dark part of the picture. This will then have the same problems associated with an LCD TV where the block cannot be switched of fully, and so it is impossible to get the black part totally dark.

There is a way to actuate this topic, and that would be to have one LED light for every pixel on the TV display, but the qoute with this is that it would be far to high-cost to build a TV in this way and so they would be too high-priced for largely citizen to buy. However, with all things taken into account, this method of alignment a back-lit LED HDTV does ordinarily output a TV with a best picture than that of most LCD TVs.

Led Hdtv Summary
So as we can see, there is totally more than one type of LED HDTV that you can buy, and the road that it is built can have a big complete on the capability of the image that you get. So if you are seeing to buy an LED television then it is critical to know the differences in base because they can have a big impact on the execution of the TV.

Back-Lit LED HDTVs also have a integrate of other disadvantages when compared to edge-lit models  or LCD televisions for that matter. You can find out more about these issues by visiting the links in the reserved supply box below.

Plasma TVs - How it work?

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Plasma TVs are a new set of display that uses technology ultimately different from other televisions. Although Plasma displays are not a new invention ( survey on them dates back for decades ), it is only recently that the technology to manufacture Plasma TVs at a relatively cheap price have been developed. Demand Plasma TVs have now been on the mart for many years. They initially 'wow' many home theater enthusiasts with their size and weight (and particularly their thinness), but original displays were very worthy and lacked image quality comparable to differential technologies.

However, with advances in manufacturing technology, Plasma TVs are now a workable, and in many ways good, preference to other display types. Plasma TVs are now available in a wide difference of sizes, ranging from 32 to 63 inches large, and with larger displays on the horizon. The image quality has highly improved, as have sharpness, black levels, and brightness. Prices have further come down dramatically, and many shoppers can now inspect Plasma TVs to be cheap enough to buy.

So, how do Plasma TVs work? What makes them different?, a Plasma TV works by suspending an inert gas such as neon or xenon in between two glass plates that are meshed together. Between the glass panels there are generally over 1 million pixel cells capable of producing 16.7 million colors. This inert gas is excited by a charge from an electrode, one per pixel of the display, turning it to plasma (for the name), and causing ultraviolet light to be created. Of course, we cannot watch UV light, but this light is used to brighten phosphors built into the glass, creating visible light. Since each pixel includes red, green and blue phosphors, the usage for space is reduced. Also, since each pixel includes all three colors, there is no need to scan the picture as with usual cathode-ray tube displays, allowing Plasma TVs to produce greatly bright and colorful displays.

In less technical terms, Plasma TV displays can be though of as having 1 million or more microscopic light bulbs (pixels) arranged between glass plates. These pixels are illuminated by plasma gas, and are able to produce red, green, and blue individually, and any of 16.7 million colors in between. The bulbs are controlled via the television 's microprocessor corresponding to the images that are to be viewed.
